Come rain or shine, it’s always burrito o’ clock in my mind. Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner the beauty of a burrito is that you can stuff it full of almost anything before indulging in its Mexican goodness.
The Barburrito brand has conquered the world before hitting UK soil in 2005 providing Manchester folk with Amigos, Sombreros and most importantly delicious burritos.
The Nottingham restaurant quickly became one of my favourite places to grab lunch when moving to the city, and is definitely our go to lunch for “fat friday” – or to be honest any other ‘let’s be naughty’ day of the week.
It’s true what they say, you taste with all of your senses. As soon as you walk into this eatery you are hit with all of the wonderful smells, your eyes are greeted by the array of Mexican flavoured foods and you can’t help but smile at the Latino music gracing your ears. You build your own burrito filling it with deliciousness including rice, meats, veggies, salsa and cheese before wrapping it in a wonderfully ‘carby’ blanket.
Yesterday I tried their new spicy pulled porker filling, which consisted of pulled pork in a perfectly spiced, BBQ tasting, chilli sauce. However, my favourite still remains as the grilled chicken with their limited edition chorizo – who doesn’t love the oily paprika goodness of the Spanish sausage?
The restaurant has recently had a makeover following its new ‘jungle’ theme of green and red with greenery and flowers adorning the walls and ceiling. The customer service is also great, which is incredibly important to me after working in restaurants during my uni days. You might even be chosen for a ‘magic moment’, which I’ll keep as a surprise just in case!
Next time I visit I promise to try their take on churros and report back with my thoughts.
